Singapore Latest to Mull 3 Strikes for Pirates
As the international music industry puts increasing efforts into its “disconnection for piracy” policy, Singapore becomes the latest country to consider a 3 strikes regime for illicit file-sharers.
Countries like France, UK and New Zealand are all considering implementing 3 strikes regimes for alleged online pirates. As we earlier reported on TorrentFreak, South Korea has already taken the plunge.
The schemes all have one thing in common – multiple copyright infringement accusations from the entertainment industries means that users end up being disconnected from the Internet.
The latest addition to the list is Singapore, where the authorities – at the behest of entertainment companies – are considering the same type of system.
