why the hate for exetel?

They are the only good ISP in a world of expensive ones, just check whirlpool.

Speeds are fine, and I can download over 100gb a month on ADSL1, all the alternatives cost double. Its just cause exetel is for advanced users that internet n00bs dont like them, but its okay, you can stick with Telstra.

Plus its not the throttling of data you need to be worried about, its the filtering thanks to Steve Conroy

It was never really a suspension... Exetel simply put a block page up... you simply said yes I have fixed the issue or no, I have no idea and your internet was back on instantly. Other ISPs can and will disconnect you on multiple accusations.

Exetel do not shape bittorrent traffic anymore either... they operate p2p cache servers and have no need too anymore. Even when they were shaping I never saw it in effect and tested it too. I was getting 2 MB/s on a 18mbps line.

This is exactly what ISPs should do: Forward the notice, but take no further action and not give any information to the complainant without a legal court order to do so.
