Here Come The Oscars DVD Screeners
It’s that time of year again. The time of year when despite increasing security measures backed up by threats of legal action, DVD screener copies of Oscar nominated movies start leaking on to the Internet.
Last week Oscar voters started receiving DVD screeners “for their consideration”. In date order, oldest first, most recent last, DVD screeners sent out so far include;
Anvil, Coco Before Chanel, Whatever Works, The Damned United, An Education, The Messenger, (500) Days of Summer, Bright Star, Young Victoria, District 9, Julie & Julia, Pirate Radio, Away We Go, Taking Woodstock, A Serious Man, Coraline, Up, 9, Where the Wild Things Are, The Informant!, Two Lovers, Funny People and Star Trek.
Others including Up in the Air and The Lovely Bones, will go out in the first week of December.
It will be interesting to see how quickly (or indeed slowly) this batch leaks out over the coming months. If history is repeated, one thing is certain – nearly all of them will leak before nomination day.
If you spot any ‘in the wild’ feel free to mention them in the comments – no links to torrents though…

A lot of them already have Bluray rips out. I’m really interested in a watchable copy of “Where the Wild Things Are”, though.
