Filelist.org Disappears, Reappears as Filepost.org?

During the last month or so, the private tracker Filelist.org has been fairly unreliable due to downtime. Around a week ago something unusual happened to their DNS, but now it seems it may have returned under a new name.

Since around the beginning of October, Filelist.org has suffered downtime. The site did return briefly with an announcement there would be upgrades over the next few months followed by a period of open signups, but then it went back down again.

Exact details are sketchy, but in the middle of October the site’s domain name no longer resolved to the server’s IP address, but entering it manually revealed the message;

“Site is down for maintenance, check #filelist on EFnet for the latest news”

While the old domain (Filelist.org) still exists, it now links to a holding page.

However, anyone entering the IP address (212.63.219.141) today will see that the site seems to have returned, albeit under a new name – Filepost.org.
