Demonoid Shuts Down for Maintenance
Demonoid, the most prominent and frequently visited private tracker has closed the site for maintenance today. The operators are trying to solve some technical difficulties that have caused problems for several days already.
“We are experiencing power outages that have caused some ram and hard drive issues. We might have to shut down everything to fix and prevent further damage,” Demonoid’s operators wrote several days ago and today they shut the site down temporarily.
“We will be back as soon as possible, but this will probably be a prolonged downtime. Thank you for your patience,” visitors can read on the Demonoid home page.
How long the downtime will take has not been announced, but we hope it’s shorter than the six months downtime they had in 2008.

Guess they didnt fix it last time they went down…*sighs* ah well, hopefully they’ll get it this time…
well lets hope they fix things. they are the best torrent site out there (IMO).
best by a long shot. hope this doesn’t long. as soon as they are back up…im sending a nice donation.

Nah man, the reason they went down for 6 months before is because they were being sued by several people and got shut down..they moved countries and changed owners at one point I want to say…they for sure moved countries. But I am not sure whats going on right now, I doubt it will be any problem only because they had to get set back up as fast as possible before so I am not surprised they are already having issues.
I was just wondering if anybody knew a good site for comic torrents. Demonoid was awesome for those and I haven’t been able to find anything that compares since they went down. I know about h33t, which is ok but not great.

i dont use any other torrent site except demonoid, i agree with the donation thing too, they need out help, vice versa.
ya the 6month downtime last year was all the legal bs.. who knows maybe they will surprise us with a new layout or something.. shoot would be sweet ;)

No one can send an invite right now because the site is still down for maintenance.
Even though I’ve never managed to register with demonoid, I feel sad for all their lucky members. May they get their problems fixed ASAP — I hope they’ll open public registrations for a few days after that. Oh, and I hope to catch the right moment to register. ;)

I hope that all the registered members are still in their database! I would hate to come back and find my registration purged, Demonoid is the best.
Methinks mayhaps their bilge-pumps needed a bit o’ fixin’; just keep yer tricornes on, ’cause replacement parts can be har-r-rd to come by out on th’ boundin’ main! Ar-r-rgh!

sorry guys, not sure how and where to get help…and I need advice, tried google, no luck.I am new to the web,using the wireless network for a month now.I was a member of twisted torrents, downloaded 1 popular series, seeded it up to 1.6 ratio, no cheat programs, I have a fixed ip, everything in order.I log on the site with username and password, ok.Then I get a message :We come to believe you are using a fake account, therefore we’ve logged this action!
This is very annoying because they did it we no explanation why they came to this conclusion.I can not contact them through their site, so how can I ask
who screwed up there ?? Do not care for twisted torrents but I sure as hell do not want anything like this to happen on some great trackers.Please advice how
to solve this.

I too recently joined trackeraccess.org. I totaly agree with u. I miss my Demonoid for it’s huge amount of contents but i must say, the speeds on trackeraccess are much faster than i ever got on demonoid. even if there is only 1 or 2 seeders.
@joanovich. about your message u recieved… IS there any chance they promoted u to staff? that message will be displayed if they add someone to staff but don’t add you to there tracker settings. It was an error on there part. nothing u did wrong
I know of a torrent site, but they are very strict on their users. If you are any sort of leecher, they will kick you off. You have to be a dedicated seeder at all times. Their speeds are very very fast. If you can get in, good job, if not, try again another day. http://www.torrentleech.org I downloaded 7 gigs in 3 hours there. :D Enjoy, but please don’t take advantage.
I’ve been looking for an invitation to that site for the longest, but haven’t had any luck. And I totally missed that free invite thing they did last month.

This is so frustrating !!! You do everything right,seed up to 1.6, offer to help and they cut you off.Ok, accidents happen, but there seems to be no way to contact them.

greetings to all active demonoid members, there is a group on yahoo called “demonoid inside the walls” this is a gathering place for demonoid members, up to 12 so far, but its only been up a short time. i have torrents in the files section, seems like they can still function even with the website down. join up and be among friends.
I hope this isn’t going to be for much longer. I’m sitting here going through withdrawl lol. I didn’t realize just how much I actually used demonoid until I saw the maintenance message.
If anyone here who is upset with Demonoids downtime has a seedbox or no seedbox but a fast internet connection…Contact me for a possible invite to a much better site…I am a member of demonoid and simply keep my ratio however demonoid is at the bottom of the list guys…

Damn, I’m realising how much like crack demonoid is, it’s been down for just over a week and I miss it every day. I wonder whats holding things up though, its not as if it takes more than 2 days to go around a facility and replace RAM/PSU modules.
I’m going through withdrawls, But I want more PPC abandonware, I want more files people won’t sell me!

Wow. They have been down a lot longer than I ever expected. The fine Staff and members at http://trackeraccess.org have been very helpful in locating some of the hard to find stuff i was getting off demonoid.
I miss my Demonoid :(
Ahh cries in Fury!, Not fair I need my Dos games back, one i downloaded doesn’t work so need to try it again, Demonoid addict I really want it back so bad i check every day to find out if their back online.

A loss of a some months worth of activity including registered users and torrent submissions is to be expected because the backup we are hoping to get back is not up to date, so please be prepared for it
